FuelMate is the easiest and cheapest method available for converting engines
to ULP. Other methods involve removal of cylinder heads and expensive
modifications or adding fuel additives for the rest of an engine's
life.
The FuelMate gives exceptional valve protection because of the
way the tin is delivered in larger quantities directly into the
combustion chamber coating all working surfaces including valves
and valve seats.
FuelMate is a fit and forget solution to your problem. When the engine is
running, the FuelMate is operating. No adjustment or re-tuning
is necessary. FuelMate guards against valve recession and
has a life span of well over 500,000kms. A unit can be transferred
from one vehicle to another vehicle of similar engine size so when
you upgrade your car simply reinstal your FuelMate unit in
your new vehicle whether it runs on unleaded fuel, diesel or LPG.
FuelMate in LPG applications yields more power and torque and improves economy
and the lubrication of the cylinder head, valves and valve seats
is very beneficial.
Once you fit a FuelMate there is no need for lubricator systems or costly head conversions.
Many units have been fitted to taxis and give excellent returns
in performance and economy under the harshest driving conditions.
The FuelMate unit fits into the liquid line between the two shutoff valves and
is mounted to the chassis. Less vibration is needed to release the
tin into the fuel stream because the LPG is a more abrasive fuel
than petrol or diesel. The FuelMate unit is rated to AS1210 and AS1425 and is pressure rated up to 6,000psi.
All LPG units must be fitted by a licensed LPG fitter. After fitting
the unit there will be an initial response felt by the operator
and a secondary response that may take a little longer than in a
petrol application. Be patient - you will be rewarded.
After fitting a FuelMate to a diesel engine you will normally feel a difference in throttle
response and throttle position at cruising speeds. The engine will
pull and hang on better on hills and when towing.
You will also notice
that smoke at idle, and throughout the range, virtually disappears.
This often happens within the first five minutes of idling after
fitting and is due to the tin being released and the fuel starting
to burn more efficiently at idle. Secondary benefits take a longer
to appear because the removal of carbon in a diesel engine is effected
by larger surface areas, much heavier deposits. Often these engines
have run for many hundreds of thousands of kilometres. Your patience will
be greatly rewarded as the secondary condition comes into play.
The performance and economy of the vehicle will really surprise
you.
TheFuelMate catalyst unit will assist in overcoming problems of loss of power
and general poor running, pinging and detonation that you associate
with using premium unleaded petrol in performance cars.
The catalyst affect
in the burning process gives an extended and more controlled burn
rate and removes carbon build up. Once the carbon has gone the oxidized
tin coats all the combustion surfaces and promotes an even more
consistent burn across the whole combustion chamber. This effectively
yields approximately six points on the octane scale. The increase
in power is due directly to the extended and more complete combustion
with added anti-detonation benefits.
Fuelmate has
a very important roll to play as fuel mixtures that are exposed
to extremely high pressure tend to explode rather than burn evenly.
We always upsize the FuelMate unit in these circumstances
so that a larger amount of tin is released and the burn rate is
slowed further to allow for the extreme loads. This gives the anti-detonation
benefit which is so important in these highly stressed engines and
allows the extraction of all the useable power whilst protecting
your engine at the same time. In our experience the FuelMate unit will start to work in the first 5 minutes of
running and the maximum benefits will come after the carbon has
gone and the combustion surfaces are coated with the tin oxide.
I own a 1964 EH Holden and a 1975 VW Beetle. I have had the EH fitted with a PR14 Fuelmate for some time now. I have noticed significant improvement in torque at highway speeds along with an approximate 12% reduction in fuel consumption. Also the engine does not ping under load any more. Since recently fitting a PR12S to my VW I have noticed a similar increase in torque and reduction in fuel consumption which continues tio improve over time. I have found that both vehicles are now starting easier when cold and hot. The exhaust on both vehicles appears to be cleaner and neither vehicle now blows any sooty residue on cold start up.
