I have had the PR18 Fuelmate Catalyst fitted to our turbocharged diesel Holden Rodeo...and already we have seen significant results with an increase in performance, particularly when fully loaded and towing to the manufacturer's Gross Combination Mass. The stale smell of diesel that is often present in small diesel engine exhausts has subsided quite substantially and we are pleased in the way the Fuelmate catalyst is performing with the reduction of fuel usage. Forestry SA own a Caterpillar D8R towing a set of chopper rollers over clear felled forestry sites. The Caterpillar D8R specification manual states in heavy conditions the D8R can use between 41.5 and 51 litres under full load. Fuel usage was 45-46 litres/hour prior to fitting a Fuel Mate system. After fitting a Fuel Mate system, usage dropped to 41.6 litres/hour. There a was a noticable reduction in exhaust smoke and an increase in power. I spoke to a local person who has a Fuel Mate fitted to an old Nissan Patrol and he can travel a further 90kms on a tank of diesel and the vehicle blows very little smoke since fitting the Fuel Mate.

Our company fitted a "fuelmate" fuel cell to a series 3-480 HP Volvo Prime Mover. This vehicle travels on a 5 day a week basis Tamworth to Inverell and return. Prior to fitting "fuelmate" the vehicle returned an average of 1.8 km/litre of fuel. After an initial decoking of the engine after the "fuelmate" was fiitted, this vehicle now returns a constant 2.3 km/litre. I own a 1964 EH Holden and a 1975 VW Beetle. I have had the EH fitted with a PR14 Fuelmate for some time now. I have noticed significant improvement in torque at highway speeds along with an approximate 12% reduction in fuel consumption. Also the engine does not ping under load any more. Since recently fitting a PR12S to my VW I have noticed a similar increase in torque and reduction in fuel consumption which continues tio improve over time. I have found that both vehicles are now starting easier when cold and hot. The exhaust on both vehicles appears to be cleaner and neither vehicle now blows any sooty residue on cold start up.

Since hearing about the attributes of the Fuelmate Fuel Catalysts I decided to give one a try on my VR Commodore, not only for the benefit of getting more economy per litre but also for the added torque from the engine.
